There's nothing like starting a weekend morning with a quiche. They're easy to make and extra yummy with leftovers to last the whole day and to the next morning.
The recipe for the egg base is very simple:
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk or cream
From there, add whatever you want - meats, vegetables, and/or cheeses. In a 10-inch pie crust, you can fit about two cups of fillings. We like to scavenge the fridge for vegetables and just throw stuff in. This morning it's some broccoli, mushrooms, and onions, and red pepper. But really, anything you like with eggs works from bacon to potatoes to salsa.
Don't forget the cheese. Pick any variety, or mix them, and top the quiche with 1 to 2 cups.
Cook at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes until crust is golden brown.
